How to change the type of an element

For many elements of BPMN, it’s possible to specify a type and extend the meaning of the element. For instance, the element Task can be defined as a “User Task” or a “Manual Task”.

  1. On the canvas of the process editor, select an element.
  2. Click on the “two arrows” icon.
  3. On the type selector, click on the type you want to introduce. If the selector region is bigger than the canvas view area, then open the properties tab at the right side, and find the field used to edit the type of the element.

The same procedure can be used to restore the generic representation of the element.
