HEFLO allows you to determine automatic selection rules for participants of type: people and groups, union, filter on people and web service.
The objective is to choose a specific rule to determine the people responsible for a particular lane or task.
Follow these steps to implement one of these rules in one of your participant definitions:
- Go to the process editor and click on the “view editor tools” icon.
- Choose: “Participants”.
- Choose the participant definition you want to improve. This automatic selection can be done for participants of type: people and groups, union, filter on people and web service.
- Click on the drop-down list of the “Automatic performer selection” field.
You have 3 selection options:
- Random: HEFLO will randomly choose, without any specific rule, a person from the list of persons that make up this definition.
- Load balance: HEFLO will choose the person that has the least amount of work item under its responsibility among the list of persons that make up this definition.
If you want to limit the calculation of this selection to the process that is affected by the work item, then select this option: “Use only instances of the same process”.
The system will then only consider instances of the relevant process when selecting the person.
- First In First Out: The choice is based on a queue that is sorted by date and time that a work item was last assigned to the candidates chosen by the participant definition.
Example for FIFO: The system will choose a person from the list for the first work item. Then it will choose the person next to the first person in the list for the second work item. The system will follow this logic until the last person in the list and then return to the first person in the list.
If you want to limit the calculation of this selection to the process that is affected by the work item, then select this option: “Use only instances of the same process”.
The system will then only consider instances of the relevant process when selecting the person or participant.
If you do not select any of the three options, the “random” option will be chosen by default.
